WebEx is a Web conferencing application that can be used to host classes, office hours, and other meetings, in an online environment. Faculty, staff, and students can communicate in real-time using chat, voice (microphone and speakers), and video (webcam) with WebEx. WebEx allows for the ability to display presentations, annotate overtop slides, perform live editing of documents and even conduct a poll within the software.
WebEx integrates with Canvas through CirQLive and requires a UMD Directory ID to obtain access and utilize. Directions and configuration can be found via the CirQLive Runbook.
There are three WebEx session types available through the Canvas integration.
Training Center - Used for delivering interactive online courses
Meeting Center - Used for hosting online meetings and collaborating on projects
Event Center - Used primarily for hosting large webinars and other events
WebEx has Support Center which is only available through direct access at https://umd.webex.com.
