Special Collections and University Archives division is your gateway to historical books, manuscripts, photographs, audiovisual materials, and more to enhance your research. Our collections focus on state and University of Maryland history, broadcasting and journalism (including The National Public Broadcasting Archives and Library of American Broadcasting), labor history, post-war Japan (the Gordon W. Prange Collection), performing arts, historic preservation, literature and rare books, women?s history, and more. The Maryland Room, located on the first floor of Hornbake Library, is the main reading room for Special Collections and University Archives materials.
